If you just started following my blog, here is something you might not know about me; my full-time job is boat/yacht sales for a local marine dealership, Seattle Boat Company! I have been selling boats for over 4 years now, and am so lucky to have the most fun job in the world. A lot of people wonder how we can be successful selling boats year-round, and the answer is, the big Seattle Boat Show!
The show runs annually, the last full week of January through the first weekend in February. Closing day is always the day before Superbowl. If you have ever attended the boat show before, you will know that it is impressive, but did you know it is considered one of the best boat shows in the country? We have guests who attend from across the country and even down from Canada to come see everything the marine world here in Seattle has to offer. Companies put on MASSIVE displays of their latest and greatest product (isn’t our booth absolutely beautiful??), and many customers enjoy coming to pick out their new boat so they can have it ready to hit the water the absolute first sunny and warm day that spring has to offer us.
This show is packed with events, so it is fun to attend just as a spectator even if you aren’t that much into boating. This year, opening night features a wine tasting “Uncorked” event, and the following Friday is themed “Sails and Ales“, with a craft-brewery tasting happening right at the show.
Monday of the show is always Women’s Day which means all you chicks can get in for free! Also, there are different boating seminars that span the week if you are interested in going and learning more about things like charting, navigating, purchasing your first boat, sailing, crabbing, fishing, and much more!
So, if you feel like I am MIA this week – it is because I am! I will be here at the show through Februar 4th… be sure to stop by and say hello to me in the Seattle Boat Company booth if you are here! 🙂
