I’m ready for a new bag and want to hear your fashion advice!

Dear fashion bloggers, its time for me to get a new bag for spring and I really want your help! 🙂

Pre-mommyhood, I was a “tote” kind of girl. Basically, the bigger the better when it came to my handbags of choice. Part of this is because I had a little purse dog who went everywhere with me… the bag had to be large enough to carry all my necessary items, plus a 4-LB dog who would never accept being left at home by herself.

After having a kid, I started that super annoying mom game of bag lady.

Currently I am using a Ju-Ju-Be “B.F.F.” diaper bag to get my daughter to the nanny’s house, a Kate Spade over-the-arm satchel as my purse, and a falling apart LuluLemon shopping bag to carry my laptop and important work documents around. Like I said, I am the bag lady!

I think people just put it in our minds that moms need a million bags to carry everything we own just so our already hectic lives can feel even more chaotic as we try to jam too much into one, forget the other, etc… Well, I’m over it and ready to consolidate back down to one!

I have decided I would ultimately like to just have a stylish backpack so I can keep my laptop zippered up and safe, still have room for my wallet & personal accessories, and of course a section for a few diapers and wipes for when my toddler is in-tow.

There are a few bags I am deciding between, and I thought it would be fun to get some internet advice! The few listed below are my final faves, deemed to be both stylish enough to meet my fashion requirements, are in the right kind of budget, and have enough room for what I need.

Let me know what your vote is! I plan to go shopping at the end of the week 🙂

Option #1: Kate Spade “Watson Lane Hartley” floral bag. $228.

I love it because it looks trendy and feminine, and the colors are dark enough that they should survive my toddler.

Option #2: Michael Kors Rhea Medium Leather Backpack in “Fawn”. $223.

This seems a little more versatile to me seeing that it is tan. It is also very modern and simple which I like.

Option #3: Tory Burch “Scout Sequin Backpack” in black. $350.

This one appeals to my fun side quite a bit, but I wonder if being over 30 it would make me look like I am trying too hard. I also wonder how it fares against sticky hands and spills, with all the crevasses and grooves of the sequins. But, you can’t deny that it is super cute!

  1. As a middle age man, with no fashion sense, you really don’t want my opinion. Plus I run a worthless advice blog so you can tell this comment is quickly going downhill. I’d go with the brown bag…it goes well with my depression.
