A Day in the (Boat) Life, Lake Washington

Boating in the Northwest is just ridiculously awesome. There are incredible lakes in Western Washington that feature incredible things such as access into the Puget Sound, city views, places to dine out by water, and much more. Head over to Eastern Washington and find a completely different desert-like climate with glassy calm rivers, and crystal clear glacial fed lakes where you can see straight to the bottom.

I have mentioned before that I sell boats in the Seattle area, which is an incredibly fun and very non-traditional job. I think sometimes people struggle to picture what a day at work is like for me, and friends are often skeptical I work hard since boating all the time for a profession sounds a little too good to be true. So, I thought I would share “a day in the life” of boat sales here in the Northwest with you!

Seattle Boat Company is the name of the company I work for, and we are located on Lake Washington. Not only am I lucky enough to sell two of the best-made runabout boats on the water (Cobalt and Malibu), but the lake we are located on is one of the boating hot-spots in the State of Washington!

These pictures are from a test drive event we just hosted a few weeks back, where we had a handful of our best-selling models on the water for customers to come sample. The boats ranged in size from a 22 foot Surf/Wake specific Malibu, all the way up to a twin-engine Cobalt cruiser at 30 feet. Average sale price of the boats on water was approximately $130,000 (USD), but we do offer pre-owned inventory for considerably less.

Our company JUST opened a beautiful new state-of-the-art showroom and service department, so this event was our first opportunity to really show off the new digs!

Next Saturday our company is hosting a “Grand Opening Event at our new Bellevue store, and I would love to invite any Seattle-area followers and boating enthusiasts to come join me and see what it is all about! The official event date is Saturday June 24th (2017) from 4pm to 8pm.

Food and beverages will be catered by Tom Douglas and we will have some beautiful boats on display to check out, in addition to a self-guided tour available to view our new facility on the waterfront.

If you are interested in attending, please email me at abbey@seattleboat.com for additional details and to RSVP!

    1. Fun! What area on the east coast? There are still fun lakes and rivers out there to vacation on ๐Ÿ™‚ I agree, don’t let that stop you, any boating is better than not boating at all!
