Fab Friday – August Glam Bag Review!

It scares me a little bit that I feel like I just published my review for July – AKA this summer is just going too darn fast!!

Several months into my IPSY Glam Bag review routine, I have realized that I have this subscription pretty dialed in. Not only do I review all my items and each bag religiously, I also change my settings frequently to make sure I am getting the types of things I want. If you do not feel like IPSY gets you, I seriously suggest going back into your settings and re-doing your profile to eliminate products and brands that you are not excited about. It has worked great for me!

If you are unfamiliar with IPSY or want information on how to sign up for this $10 a month subscription, read more here!

Okay, on to my August products, and if I would PURCHASE or PASS!

CLIV – Max Hyaluronic Mask

There were two CLIV masks included in this pack, which I thought was a good value. I want to get into sheet masks, but something about them seems super slimy when I pull them out of the pouch… please tell me I’m not the only person who feels this way! Despite my aversion to the texture, I gave one of these a try and was very pleased with the results. Hyaluronic acid is all the rage at the moment in regards to skin hydration, and I thought it did a great job and my skin was feeling great for days after use. Loved the results, so PURCHASECLIV 2-Step Max Hyaluronic Ampoule Gold Foil Mask

AURORA -Pro Color Corrector in Pistachio

This is my first time using a color corrector… I have redness in my skin in addition to some brown patches – AKA lots to correct! I was a little concerned with splotching green stuff all over my face as I rushed to work one morning, but was surprised with how evenly it corrected. I layered it under my foundation, though I realized I wouldn’t even have to and could have just dabbed on as concealer here and there. PURCHASE!

theBalm Cosmetics -theBalm Voyage Vol. 2 Eyeshadow in Kuwakaribisha

I have got ‘theBalm’ eye-shadows a few times and loved them, and this was no exception. This is a beautiful shade that I am quite obsessed with as a hi-lighter too. I saw another beauty blogger raving about a pallet she was trying of theirs, and agree that they make a fantastic product! PURCHASE, for sure. theBalm Balm Voyage 2 Palette

Sadly when they say “liquid coal” that is exactly what I felt like I got with this one… a crappy uneven grey coal eyeliner. This went on chalky and uneven and wasn’t coming out well. After irritating the crap out of one eye trying to get this to go on visibly I straight gave up and switched back to the liquid eyeliner I got last month which was THE BOMB if you ask me. PASS

Hikari Cosmetics – Shimmer Bronzer in Flush

This product was so much fun! The bronze colors on this palette are beautiful and the pinks are bright and summery. You can swirl your brush on all of them to pick up a good amount of color variety, or focus on just one corner if you aren’t in the mood for the bunch. The pinks are VERY BRIGHT, but once I realized this I was able to better manipulate how much I wanted on my brush. I will be playing with this a lot while summer is still around! Purchase. Hikari Shimmer Bronzer Flush 0.25 oz

  1. Great bag! I got a few of the same items as you!

I am a sheet mask lover so I’m sure I would love the Cliv masks! I’m glad you enjoyed it! Maybe it was the one you needed to get you into sheet masks?!

The Hikari bronzer/blush also looks fun! I like how you can swirl all 4 colours together!
