Bye Summer! August Monthly Recap

This was a beautiful, dry summer here in Seattle, and I am truly sad to say goodbye to it! I don’t feel like I got enough time in the sun, though I honestly was out in it every day. Looking back, we squeezed in two trips to Chelan, one to camp in Leavenworth, and one trip to the San Juan Islands for a boating weekend… an eventful and outdoorsy Northwest summer to say the least!

Looking at my August posts, I am actually very happy with my content! My main goal was to hi-light some Lake Chelan wineries, just because I know this is a big vacation time of year and hoped to share some new places that people are interested in trying. Hopefully some of my local followers check one or two of these out over the upcoming holiday weekend! Here is a quick run-through of the wineries added to my “Visit Chelan” on the right menu bar:

Tunnel Hill Winery, Lake Chelan Winery, Fielding Hills Winery, Benson Vineyard, Cairdeas Winery

Okay, on to recipes! I promised myself I would only pick ONE best recipe from this past month, and the clear winner was this Olive Oil Orange Bundt Cake. This cake is seriously beautiful… if you are entertaining any time soon I absolutely say give this a try because it will surely impress!

Lastly, I had some big beauty news! I just became a Rodan + Fields consultant, and now personally sell one of the most successful skincare brands out there. Their products are dermatologist researched and upscale department store quality. If you are a beauty blogger and are interested learning more about this, be sure to let me know! I have been using the products less than two weeks and am so thrilled with my results already… especially wrinkle reduction and eyelash growth using their super famous Lash Boost!

Two things to know about this – if you sign up as a Preferred Customer of mine, you will get FREE SHIPPING plus 10% off on all your orders! So, if you are thinking about trying a product, let’s talk first!

SECOND, if you are interested in becoming a consultant yourself, you can sign up for as little as $395, which includes a regimen of your choice, so the cost is basically the same as a product haul! PLUS, with Rodan + Fields you do not stock inventory…. I had previously been quoted $7,000 of mandatory inventory to get signed up as a Lularoe consultant… that’s crazy! All I have on-hand are the products that I love and use, and everything else ships factory direct to my customers.

Okay, so on to September!

I had a super fun idea for my September blogging! September is my birthday month, so I thought, how fun would it be to follow me through my birthday month adventures here in Seattle?! I am a big promoter of birthday month… because what is wrong with celebrating yourself and having some fun?

I will share some new restaurants as we dine out, things to do around the city, and of course, some great recipes that we cook up as we celebrate.

Is there anyone else out there who celebrates birthday month like me?? And what do you all have planned for September? If there is any content I haven’t been sharing enough of, be sure to let me know what!

PS – There is still time to enter in my First Giveaway! Winner will be announced September 6th.

  1. I have a September birthday also- I didn’t know you were a fellow Virgo!
Last month I shared my own birthday cocktail so maybe I’ll do that again this year. Looking forward to what you share in September!

    1. Haha I agree it has been relatively eventful – yesterday I had to take a day to just chill at home and relax. We have a dinner out Friday and golf scheduled Saturday, so I am quite excited!
