How do you prepare your dog for life with a new baby? This can be particularly difficult, especially in instances like ours where we had our dog for YEARS before having a kid, and she had limited exposure to children beforehand. My daughter is over two years old now and we are STILL working on this transition, but are doing much better than we initially were. A very thoughtful Mother's Day planned for me by my wonderful hubby, my first year of mommyhood. My daughter is two now, so this seems so long ago! I enjoyed my homemade crepes and mimosa, and at a later date even got to head to Salish Lodge for a Swedish Hot Stone Massage!
Reactive Airway Disease... what is it? If your baby is suffering from breathing problems, you may have heard the term "reactive airway disease" before. It basically means that your child's airways are delicate and breathing can be affected by many things such as cold weather and illness, and they may or may not have asthma. Asthma is not diagnosed until at least age two... something I did not know! This story is about our run-in with reactive airway disease that landed us in the hospital, and the amazing care we received from Children's Hospital in Seattle.
