Lake Chelan Winery & Cheese Shop

Lake Chelan Winery is on our “must visit” list every time that we are in Chelan. Why, you may ask? Because they have a CHEESE SHOP inside their winery, that is why! The Lake Chelan Cheese Shop is a game changer when it comes to cheese shops – I don’t think I have found a place with better selection in Washington State. The Caramelized Onion Cheddar and Cougar Gold are two of my favorite scores.

Okay, okay, I know you aren’t reading a post about a winery wanting to know about the cheese they carry – but truly that is a huge plus. But, lets move on to the stars of the show – the wines!

Lake Chelan Winery has a very diverse lineup of wines, thanks to the fact that they planted some of the first commercial grape vines in Lake Chelan. If you ask me, their white lineup is especially good, and I enjoy their Chardonnay quite a bit. They have a blend called the “Stormy Mountain White”, which has a fun story, and is also at the top of the list of my favorites with a very fruity while not to sweet finish. Out of the reds, I think their Cab Franc would have to be my favorite, but in general we have enjoyed their wines enough to join their wine clubs for a few years in the past.

Not only are the wines fab to taste here, but so are the events! They do BBQs out on the patio on weekends during the summer, and they are a super fun family-style event that we enjoy attending.

Also, the shopping here is incredibly fun! There are countless homemade foodie products (jams, mustard’s, rubs, etc. etc.), plus some very pretty home decor to shop while you sip.

My favorite thing to do would be grab a delicious slice of cheese to munch on while sitting on the patio and soaking up the beautiful Chelan sun.

We never leave without a bag full of cheese and goodies, and a case of wine!
