Tunnel Hill Winery – Lake Chelan

I am truly so excited, because this month we head back to Lake Chelan for our second trip of the summer with friends! Chelan has a few big draws – the ice blue lake and perfect summer weather are two big ones, but if you ask me, the wineries are high up on the list too.

There are so many amazing ones to choose from that I truly struggle to pick which to visit every time I am there. Perhaps that is why I find the need to head out there a few times a year 🙂 My hope is to bring you information on ALL OF my favorites (which would be quite a few…) and give you lots of great options to choose from while you are in the area! If you want more information on wineries in Chelan, just click on the “Visit Chelan” link on my right menu bar.

Anyways, this week I bring you Tunnel Hill Winery! Tunnel Hill is located on South Lakeshore Road just in between Nefarious Cellars and Tsillian Cellars. Those two wineries are MUST VISITS in my book, so you might as well hit all three in a row, right?! I especially admire the grounds at Tunnel Hill. They are so beautifully manicured, and the feel is very country/quaint. I have seen pictures before of wedding receptions out on their back lawn, and the setup truly is stunning.

The cobblestone buildings remind me of something you would find on the French countryside!

Of course, the wines must be talked about too. Their Pinot Noir is their oldest vintage, and also one of my favorites. I also find myself always bringing home a bottle of their Pinot Noir Rose, which has a splendid berry start and rich finish… a great summer patio wine.

Their tasting room is open daily from 11am-6pm, and they offer many fun events through the summer such as live music, vineyard and cellar tours, and even a “Wine Tasting 101” class offered for $15 with their winemaker.

Next time you are in Chelan, be sure to add them to your roster of wineries to visit, and have some Rose for me 🙂

      1. Oooooooohhh! I still have yet to explore Washington but I would LOVE to know! I know there’s a few places not too far from here where there are lakes and waterfalls 😀
