It has been months since my last post on here… I can’t believe it!
When I began my blog, I never imagined taking a leave of absence from it. I love writing on here, and putting together a fun new recipe or project for you guys is one of my favorite outlets.
However, some aspects of life have kept me away from my blog recently, and I wanted to update you.
The big news – we are now expecting baby #2!!!
We are thrilled… this is something we were hoping and planning for, so there were no surprises and we feel extremely grateful.
However, it has also left me extremely sick! I have been blessed (in both my pregnancies) with that never-ending, all-day, unrelenting morning sickness. I have been living my life as if I am stuck with the stomach flu, in the last 3 mouthwatering seconds before you throw up. Graphic, I know, but I am trying to accurately paint the picture.
I can’t eat (or even smell) food without being nauseated right now. I mostly eat bowls of fruit, yogurt, and cereal. My husband has told me “you can’t make a whole person from corn flakes”, to which I replied, “watch me”, as its one of the only things I can stomach at the moment.
This leads into the explanation of why I have not been blogging… because I have been curled up in a fetal position avoiding food smells at all costs! At the moment I have no new recipes for you to try, no inspiration of things I want to whip up. Instead, I’m going to eat a bowl of ice cream for dinner tonight, pray that I keep it down, and go to bed early so I don’t have to think about how sick I feel.
I feel sad that not only am I not blogging, but I’m not reading all my usual favorite blogs at the moment… I follow so many food bloggers because it is one of my passions, but I seriously don’t want to look at your food pics right now.
The good news is that this will pass… I mean, I will only be pregnant so long! I am 14 weeks already and am hoping relief is around the corner for me somewhere in the near future. As I feel more up to it I will surely dip my toes back in, but know for now my posts will be fewer than in the past. I actually do have lots of posts about recipes, wineries, and restaurants pre-written in my queue… I just haven’t been up to finishing them so far.
Thank you all for hanging in there with me, and I hope to be back at it soon!

Oh, that is such wonderful news! Congrats to you & your hubs! Of course, we’ll all be looking forward to what you’re “cooking up” in a few months time! My Doc put me on what they called a “white” diet…little bits of food (mostly white) every two to three hours. Plain Oatmeal was a godsend coz it is so easy to zap. 🙂
Oh wow, congrats Abbey!! That’s awesome 🙂
Congratulations!! That’s so exciting!
