Lake Chelan is one of my favorite go-to getaways as a Washingtonian. The lake is crystal ice blue and fresh, the wineries are abundant, and so is the sun! If Western Washington's weather is giving you the blues, be sure to escape for a quick trip to Lake Chelan. We are sure to do it at least once a summer! Tips on where to camp, wine taste, dine out all included.
The Cherry Chalet is a quaint but modern Bed and Breakfast just outside of Walla Walla. It is a short driving distance to many wineries of interest, and features a fresh home cooked breakfast each morning. Plus, they are family friendly! Something hard to find in wine country.
L'Ecole No. 41 is one of my favorite wineries in Washington State! They are located in Eastern Washington just outside of Walla Walla, and are well established as one of the older and accomplished vineyards in the area. Their Reisling and Luminesce are two of my favorite white wines for sipping, and their Estate Perigee and Syrah are two beautiful reds that I love to hang onto for a special occasion!
The Monteillet Fromagerie is a small farm outside of Walla Walla where Joan and Pierre-Louis Monteillet make their own fresh goat and sheep milk cheeses. You can pay their darling farm a visit by calling ahead, or visit their baa baa tasting room on Main Street in downtown Walla Walla for samples and shopping!
Seven Hills Winery in Walla Walla is one of the older and more respected wineries in the area. Their tasting room is located in an easily accessible location in downtown Walla Walla, walking distance from the Marcus Whitman Hotel and dozens of other wineries to taste at. They feature Bordeaux style reds and we enjoyed every sip we tasted. Truly, a must-visit while you are enjoying Walla Walla wine country!
We are headed to Walla Walla Washington this weekend for a quick getaway. We have only been once before, and I have my checklist of all the places we need to try ready to go! What are some of your recommendations while we are out there? Have you ever been?

One of the best events that Seattle has to offer - Opening Day of Boating Season!
We have snowboarded Crystal Mountain plenty of times, but had never stayed there for a weekend until one year we were running out of ideas on new resorts to try, and we are so glad we gave it a chance!
