My work has a pair of season tickets to the Seattle Mariners... the seats are great and they are offered up to us pretty regularly through the season; a nice perk of the job! There were some circulating for the games this past weekend, which so happened to be some of the first nice spring …
My knee-jerk reaction was to not write about Purple Cafe and Wine Bar because I know that they are a well-established restaurant and loved by the masses here in Seattle. Any good wine-loving person in the PNW knows that this is the perfect destination for amazing food, savory apps, and unlimited wine choices. I however …
The Maltby Cafe is a tiny little vintage vibe cafe located in Snohomish Washington. They were awarded "Best of Western Washington's" Award for best breakfast in 2016. You can't go there without treating yourself to a giant cinnamon roll! If you live in Seattle or are visiting the area, this diner is a must-stop for sure!
Amavi Cellars is a must visit when checking out the south side of Walla Walla. One of their most notable features is their big deck perfect for watching the sunset... amazing views!
Some of my favorite shop reccomendations to make if you are looking on Etsy for trendy wedding decor! These little finds truly helped to make our special day feel personalized and hi-lighted the details of our personalities perfectly.
The Cherry Chalet is a quaint but modern Bed and Breakfast just outside of Walla Walla. It is a short driving distance to many wineries of interest, and features a fresh home cooked breakfast each morning. Plus, they are family friendly! Something hard to find in wine country.
L'Ecole No. 41 is one of my favorite wineries in Washington State! They are located in Eastern Washington just outside of Walla Walla, and are well established as one of the older and accomplished vineyards in the area. Their Reisling and Luminesce are two of my favorite white wines for sipping, and their Estate Perigee and Syrah are two beautiful reds that I love to hang onto for a special occasion!
The Monteillet Fromagerie is a small farm outside of Walla Walla where Joan and Pierre-Louis Monteillet make their own fresh goat and sheep milk cheeses. You can pay their darling farm a visit by calling ahead, or visit their baa baa tasting room on Main Street in downtown Walla Walla for samples and shopping!
Forgeron Cellars in Walla Walla Washington has an incredible lineup of big, bold Bordeaux style red wines. Our absolute favorite was the Cabernet Sauvignon. They also have a tasting room in Woodinville, only 30 minutes outside of Seattle!
If you are a parent in the PNW or Seattle area, an annual membership at the Woodland Park Zoo is an amazing decision! The membership is extremely affordable and pays for itself in only a few visits. Even if you do not live directly in the city of Seattle, weekdays are a perfect time to visit with ample parking and minimal lines. I absolutely suggest a Woodland Park Zoo membership to any PNW families!
