Seeing that we are in the dead of winter, temps are cool and Super Bowl is around the corner, I thought this appetizer would be a fun share. No, it’s not healthy, so maybe give this one a try in a month when you have given up on your New Year’s Resolution swearing off carbs and cheese 🙂
Creamy Creole Shrimp Dip
Ingredients:
- one 8oz package of cream cheese at room temp
- 1/4 cup mayonaise
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Creole seasoning (or to taste)
- 1 cup chopped cooked peeled shrimp
- 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onion
- optional garnish – fresh lemon
- 1 baguette sliced (optional toasted into crostini)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and Creole seasoning. Beat at a medium speed with an electric mixer or whisk until blended. Stir in shrimp and shredded cheese.
Pour the dip into an oven-safe dish and bake for 15-20 minutes (or longer until heated to your desired temp). I usually wait until the sides are nice and bubbly. Remove from onion and top with green onion, and a squirt of lemon if desired.
Cut your baguette and toast each piece lightly to give them some crunch. An alternative way to serve would be inside a bread bowl, or on crackers. Either way, it is delicious!
If you are looking to make your serving setup interesting, I suggest a wooden bowl just as I have displayed here – this salad bowl is one of my favorites for entertaining and can be used for so many things! Check out the links below (affiliate).
