Hello Fall! Bucket list for my favorite season๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‚

Happy first day of fall!

Fall is hands-down my favorite season of the year. It is my birthday, my husband’s birthday, and of course we get to celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving. Football returns to T.V., and the chilly weather rolls in welcoming me to break out my massive collection of boots and cozy sweaters. I know a lot of summer lovers think I am crazy, but there is something so comforting about fall and all it brings. Today you will surely find me in my happy place snuggled up on the couch in a fuzzy blanket watching a Halloween movie with my daughter drinking hot chocolate. Yes guys, I am THAT BASIC!

Perhaps the other part of it is that I am a foodie at heart, and grilling outside just does not do it for me. There is something comforting about the warmth of a busy kitchen on a cool day, and the thought of some homemade pastas and fall pies bring me happiness.

Somehow, we are ALREADY finding our schedules extremely packed with family events, so I wanted to take a moment to write my fall bucket list of things we want to do before the season gets away from us!

Fall Bucket List

  • Visit an apple orchard and pick apples as a family. This is a big East Coast activity that we did ALL THE TIME growing up but somehow does not seem as popular out west. I am determined to go!
  • Make homemade applesauce
  • Go to a local Oktoberfest festival! We have family visiting and plan to bring them to one. So much fun!
  • Visit a pumpkin patch with friends! We already have an outing scheduled the 15th
  • Paint pumpkins! We seem to have more fun painting versus carving, and they tend to last longer that way.
  • Make a Halloween Gingerbread House! I saw one on Amazon and am determined to make my own.ย Halloween Haunted Gingerbread House Kit- (affiliate)
  • Make a REALLY COOL Halloween Cake! I am thinking black velvet.
  • Bake with pumpkin, once a week. I told you I was basic!! Pumpkin bread pudding and pumpkin scones are two recipes on my list. Do you have a favorite pumpkin dish I should try? Once a week may be a lofty goal, but we will see!
  • Blog at least 3 Thanksgiving recipes. This one will benefit you guys, because if there is one holiday I have on-lock, it is Thanksgiving.
  • Throw a tailgate-theme football party!
  • Make fancy Caramel Apples.
  • Go trick-or-treating. My two year old keeps telling me she wants to be a ‘scary ghost’ or a ‘scary witch’. I am unsure of what that looks like in her mind, but these are the costumes I was thinking about:ย Kids White Ghost Halloween Cloak Costumes Toddlers Elf Cape Cosplay Role Play Dress Up (Small),ย Rubie’s Costume Glitter Witch Child Costume, Toddler

Well, are any of you big fall fans like me? If so, what do you have planned? I am not joking guys… I have at least 5 Halloween posts scheduled already that I wrote LAST YEAR! I just can’t wait! My season is here!

I would love to hear other fun fall things going on – I am interested in it all ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Awesome post! ๐Ÿ˜€ I love fall, too. <3 It's the best. I already got to go to a cider mill for cider and donuts for my job yesterday (but I'm definitely gonna go again on my own time before the season is over)! ๐Ÿ˜› Your pumpkin pictures you posted are so cool. It makes me want to try painting a pumpkin this year. I always just carve/shave them, but I love how yours turned out!

    1. Thank you!! We almost always paint so I have a few posts planned with painting ideas. Last year was my favorite I think… we painted them matte black and carved them… my toddler painted with white and gold over the matte black too. They turned out very pretty!

  2. Omg you are making me so so excited for halloween and autumn! If you make a black velvet cake you should totally do a blog post on it! Think of how pretty all the photos would be of it haha! xxx

  3. Normally summer is my season, but this year I could not WAIT for fall! I agree about the cooking- I already made turkey and dumplings this week and can’t wait to make more hearty stuff. I have a pumpkin white chocolate cocoa on my blog if you’re looking for an interesting pumpkin recipe! I’m also hoping to go to an orchard this year!

  4. I love Autumn! Sunday drives to view tree colours….pick apples….Mmm,mulled wine or hot cider, or a good steamer. Big soft woolly pullover and good cuppa tea….thumbing through sewing mags on rainy days…..heaven. ( I’m too ole for halloween ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. I love your bucket list for Fall! I love Fall as well. Definitely for me apple picking is a must as well as going to the pumpkin patch to pick our own pumpkins to paint! We tend to always paint as well since carved ones spoil so quick. And of course Halloween itself, I have to take my little guy out trick or treating which is always adorable!

  6. AGREED!!! I love spending evenings with friends around a firepit with s’mores in hand. Leaves changing color also excite me to know end, so I love finding new trails and nature preserves/parks to go walking amongst the trees. Being in the Midwest, corn mazes are a blast!

  7. NO SHAME in being obsessed with pumpkin everything this time of year! I’m the same exact way. Also if you do end up doing a black velvet cake I would love to see a recipe post!

  8. This is such a good bucket list! I love that you have a lot of crafts and baking! I never thought to make my own caramel apples but what a awesome idea. What kind of caramel do you use for yours? The only time I experiment with caramel is when I’m squeezing a bottle of it onto my ice cream! Also I am also THAT BASIC too because I love snugging on the couch or bed with warm fuzzy blankets while watching a good movie. You have such a cute blog, I’m loving it!!!

    xo, JJ

  9. Awesome list! My son still can’t make up his mind on a halloween costume, but he’s liking Mario a lot lately so maybe that haha. And how funny, my husband’s, son’s and my birthday are all during the fall too! ๐Ÿ™‚
